How about a C60 or C70 Chevy, 366, 427 or 454 V-8, 84 inches cab to axle, 10.00-20 tires on aluminum wheels, five speed trans and two speed axle. Add a long pickup bed with a gooseneck or fifth wheel. It would pull anything you were man enough to hook to it and it would have much heavier components than a "pickup-style" truck. (Lest I be accused of brand-bashing, the equivalent Ford, Dodge, International, Diamond T, Stude, etc. models could be substituted!!) Could be used as a farm truck, trailer toter, and would be a killer looking rig at car, truck or tractor shows/pulls!! I am designing one as we speak. If you are considering buying new, the medium duty Chevy or GMC trucks are actually cheaper than one-ton models in lots of cases due to not being loaded down with options. Just my two cents. All the best...Greg
