It has been sitting for over 20 years, but is in good enough shape that I'm going to attempt to restore it. The ID plate has been painted over, but I was able to read the stamped numbers and letters. The serial number is S-100-S59943. Can anyone tell me what model year this is? It looks like photos of 1956 S-series trucks, but I would like to be sure before filing the title paperwork. Next question; The truck is on blocks and the original wheels could not be found. I brought one of the brake drums home with me to get the bolt pattern (5-bolt, 4 1/2 inch circle). I HAVE HAD MINE FOR 14 YEARS I AM THE SECOND OWNER. I HAVE TWO NEEDS FOR MINE IF YOU COME ACROSS THEM , HEAD LIGHT RINGS, AND A NEW WINDSHIELD. I TOO HAVE A ONE LETTER 5 DIGIT SERIAL # S-100 S----- I HAVE A GOOD 220 6 CYL ORGINAL ENGINE w GENERATOR , AND STARTER 12V POS GROUND IF YOU'D LIKE THEM . WE'LL TALK .
