Help, When turn the left signal on, it wont go off unless I turn it off. In other words- turning the steering wheel no longer turns the blinker off. I drive a 1984 chevy 3/4 ton, no overdrive. Hi and low beam is on the turn signal if it helps. Where is this mechanism and how hard of a fix is this?

there is a plastic clip in the steering column that is broken this is a common problem but the steering wheel has to be pull off to repair it
and while your in the steering column check the rubber bushing in there to since it is apart hope this helps

thanks, is that all I do is take the horn cover off and remove the wheel? O r do I have to tear down the whole column. Tring to figure out if I want to do it, or take it somewhere.

You will need a special steering wheel puller. They aren't too expensive. And you will need another special tool to depress the steering wheel lock plate so that you can remove a snap ring, and you will have to use this tool to put the snap ring and plate back on.
