My dad left me a 1967 Kaiser M-38 Canadian Military Jeep. The top is good, it's strong mechanically, but the body got eaten badly by rust one winter it spent in a heated garage getting a motor job. Registration is complete.I have left it sitting outside for three years. The tires are still up and it should start with a tow. 24v system, military tires. A guy is coming to look at it as a parts source for a restoration. I told him we could start talking at $1000 CDN. The truck has 38,000 miles on it. Body panels are extensively rusted: there's a big hole under the driver's feet, and I assume the frame is no better, though it is still square. The Jeep is complete. Opinions? |

| | I think I sold it this afternoon to a collector from Arnprior, ON, as a donor vehicle. His truck is due to arrive tomorrow. The "fair price" turned out to be $500. |

| Thats like asking how long is a piece of string. Its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Being complete is unusual most old jeeps are butchered beyong recognition, so that in itself is worth something. Rust is common sometimes it is so bad that the body tub has to be replaced. It is a long row to hoe getting a rust bucket to an even driveable state. If it is a 67 it will be a M38A1 not an M38. I would think that asking 1000 is not out of line. But be prepared to bargain. |

| For a former military 1/4T, with intact 24 volt sys, 1000 seems pretty fair, wouldn't drop too much. Even with a full body replacement, look at the prices nice ones bring. john in nebraska |

| | Thanks for the advice. I posted a picture of the jeep in YesterdaysTractors picture gallery, identifying it as "Kaiser". |
