I want to install a 92 Lincoln 5.0 fuel injected engine and transmission in a 1956 F-100. I know I will have to use the computer and engine wiring harness for the 5.0. Where I'm lost at is what to hook up to the computer on the inside from the dash wiring harness? Anyone have any info on this swap? |

| Something useful might be electrical wiring diagrams for each vehicle. You could find them on Ebay. There may be a lot of plugs you simply won't use under the dash, or you may need to switch ends to plug into any accessories you have and plan to run with them. Or you might want to switch some of the accessories from the newer one to the older one, like the radio. What about splicing the newer dash board onto the older dash board? |

| We put a 5.0 from a Grand Marquis in a 78 pickup. If you get the entire engine compartment harness and all the attached junk with it, you will find that there are only 2 black plugs that go to the rest of the car. These are things like power, gauge readouts, Vss, fuel pump wires and cruise control. Get a diagram for the donor car at least. some parts houses have them on computer and can print them off for you. The wiring on a '56 isn't very elaborate. If you didn't have the harness and relays and all that from the Lincoln it would be a major job. |
