I have a 74 dodge dump that has brake line issues. This last weekend when a line let go I had nothing. Run down thru a ditch loaded with dirt and rolled to a stop. I was luckly I didn't kill anyone. Single master clynder, booster under the cab. My thought is to pull the booster and twin clynder out of a 1 ton cheby I have sittin here (the one where both res are the same size) and run one front and one back. Remove the booster under the cab. That way I would still have something to at least SLOW me down should this happen again. Anyone done anything like this? I am picking up all new lines today, to fix whats there, but would like to get this, or something done. I don't have enough underware, and was just to d@mn scary, to do that again.

If the cylinder will stroke the same distance, and displace at least as much fluid (or more) per pedal pump then it "might", but you need to be able to equalize front to back pressure in such a system to prevent wheel/axle lockup.

Before you commit to the route of swapping though, check the bore diameters of both brake cylinders as well as piston travel within the cylinder.

I suspect you will find the Chevy dual piston to have a slightly smaller piston, and shorter travel.

There is a small chance that you might find a larger size Dodge chassis cab that had been equipped with a dual piston (most likely a bus application) that would potentially fit up a bit better.

A Working park brake! Most big trucks have only one line off MC, even in later years. I don't think your smaller unit will give enough volume for bigger wheel cyls on dump truck, but not sure. Most one-ton or bigger GM's had hydraulic booster run off PS pumps, not sure if Dodge had such a rig or not.
MOst park brakes run off back of trans, are easy to fix if needed, and can be re-lined easily. Usually just a Band around drum, pulled with lever on floor next to shifter. It's your back-up, I would get it working also.
