One I remember is about the flathead V8. The pushrod that goes down through to the camshaft to operate the fuel pump would wear off, causing the car to run out of gas with a full tank. The quick repair alongside the road consisted of removing the fuel pump and putting a piece of leather belt between the push rod and it's contact in the pump. Try that now. :-)   [Reply]  [No Email]
